Yesterday’s workout was ‘brutal’ and it left its toll on my body. The reason I know this? I slept for 7 hours and change and still woke up exhausted and tired. I’m definitely going to bed early, tonight.
Why is sleep so important? The short answer is, “sleep affects everything.” Your body needs adequate and focused sleep to repair and rejuvenate and what the majority of people find is they’re more motivated the next day to workout hard and effectively if they’ve had a good night’s rest. Sleep becomes even more critical the older we get, especially if we’re really getting after it.
Today was swim day: 68 laps, 12 mins on the bike and 4 mins on the elliptical. Felt really good. Maybe Thursday I’ll add the kettlebells. Hmmm?
